Vienna Day 1 –
We decided to do our own walking tour.. We went to the opera house (where Peter refused to see either an opera or ballet), went to the monument against war and fascism, went to the Kaisergruft (where we visited the crypts of the Hapsburgs….creepy), went to the fountain, the Karntner Strasse (mall area), St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the plague monument then the Hofburg palace. The palace was interesting there we saw the Imperial Apartments (nice and swank), the Sisi museum (Empress Elisabeth – this was an interesting story in itself....she died of assassination, but her life was interesting), and the silver room (lots of plates, cups and other crap…I’m sure it was someone’s job to remember where all the plates go).
Here’s a pic of Peter the tourist:

Peter and I decided to see a show. It was the Strauss & Mozart Konzerte. There was dancing, opera, a little ballet and a lot of music. So Peter did see an opera and ballet (heehee).
On the way back we tried to stop at a bar next door called the Monaco bar I asked the lady if it was a bar (it was dark and I couldn’t see into the place) she told me “no this is a bar with girls.” I looked up over the door and there’s a picture of a giant pair of boobs. Not sure how I missed that one.
Anyways…..we also saw an interesting ipod product used for pleasure. Use your imagination….Peter hasn’t done a WTF pic in a while….so here it is:

Now its day two in Vienna…..we are getting ready to go out and see some sights before we take a night train to Venice.

I love your photos - and your comments - I haven't written yet but I stay caught up on your adventures. Sometimes I read about your travels at work and I can't comment from the school computers - they put walls up to prevent such foolishness. I hafta to be careful not to have my TV on at school while I'm looking though cuz my kids are a little too young for sex museums.
Glad ya'll are having such a blast. I got the Van Gogh postcard yesterday - man, would I have liked to have tagged along on that one! I guess ya'll haven't missed much.
Joey gotta Wii game!
We finally got some fall weather in Sliberia! Praise Jesus!
Enjoy! Love,
Auntie Em
You said you were going to Venice so I checked some web cams: http://www.veniceword.com/webcam.html
Was that you walking across St. Mark's square at 1:45 Sunday morning?
The Saints and Seahawks start in a few minutes. I think I would rather be in Venice.
Hi, Did you hike up the Swiss Alps and dance around and sing.."the hills are alive, with the sound of ELI..." :)
Pigskin update-
So, the good news is, the Saints FINALLY won a game. The bad news is, it was against the Seahawks. Don't know how you guys feel about this, but Brian's pretty pissed, plus his back is acting up, so he's twice as miserable.
Glad Peter got to see a ballet. I can understand why do without the opera, though. If you want him to really develop an appreciation for the art, insist he take ballet (tee hee hee). Seriously Peter, you would look good in tights.
And why don't you eat pizza?
Hell Yeah.....Saints finally won one especially when it was against the Hawks. I'm not a fan of the Hawks even though I'm I live in Seattle....hehehe.
